Since the cooperative’s incorporation in 1936, LaGrange County REMC has been dedicated to serving the people within their service territory, not only with reliable electricity, but through their involvement in the community.
One of the programs that has had the most impact on the community is Operation Round Up. LaGrange County REMC introduced the Operation Round Up program in 2002 and since that time over $707,000 has been given to non-profit organizations that provide a service to the people in LaGrange County.
Thanks to the REMC members who allow us to round up their monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar. The average annual cost to each member is about $6. This may not seem like much, but when added together, those dimes, nickels and pennies turn into thousands of dollars. These funds are much appreciated by the organizations in LaGrange County and make a difference in the lives of many people.
