Welcome to LaGrange County Rural Electric Membership Cooperative’s website. We value our customers and take your privacy seriously. In order to make you feel comfortable and secure in our online service center (“Site”), LaGrange County REMC (the "Company," “Us,” and “We”) has taken many precautions to guard your privacy and personal information. We will only collect and use information for core business purposes. We only collect and use information needed to offer and fulfill our core business purposes. We only collect and store information about customers that we need to maintain our relationship with them. Our ability to successfully implement our business is dependent on maintaining accurate information. We will strive to keep information we collect and store about customers accurate.

Company uses an outside company for credit card processing--it processes credit card payments for the electricity, goods, or services purchased. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.
- What information does the Company disclose to law enforcement agencies?
Company does not voluntarily share or provide information to law enforcement agencies. However, Company reserves the right to disclose your personally identifiable information, as required by law. Company will cooperate with investigations conducted by law enforcement agencies. Mere telephone requests will not be honored from any law enforcement agency. Company will require some documentation evidencing the law enforcement agencies involvement and need to receive the information requested. Any request without a warrant, subpoena, or court order will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis according to the need and urgency, as well as the particular law enforcement agency making the request.
In addition, Company reserves the right to disclose your personally identifiable information when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a discovery request in a judicial proceeding (civil or criminal), subpoena, court order, or other legal process served on the Company.
- What organization is collecting the information?
Personal information that customers (or prospective customers) offer to the Company is collected by the Company and used to provide electricity, goods, and services to our customers. We do not collect, store, or maintain other information about our customers.
- What is a cookie and how is it used?

We value your business. Company strives to keep its Site current and secure. We also strive to keep any information you provide to us secure.
- How is my credit card or payment information kept secure when I pay my bill via the website?
All credit card information is encrypted by industry-standard protocol, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). The Company uses SSL to communicate with secure browsers like Chrome and Internet Explorer. These browsers encrypt your credit card and personal information in a way that is difficult to decode. It does not matter whether your browser is secure. If it is not secure, you will not be able to make a payment through our website.
In the event of a breach and someone gains access to your personally identifiable information, the Company will cooperate fully with all investigations and comply with all applicable federal and state laws.
- Can this Policy be changed?
Yes, we reserve the right to amend, modify, or revise this Policy at any time. Technology is constantly changing and this Policy may have to be amended in the future. Your use of the Site also constitutes your agreement and consent to jurisdiction in the State of Indiana. Furthermore, by using this Site you agree that any dispute or litigation relating to the Company, this Policy, or your use of the Site, must be heard, mediated, or litigated in the federal or state courts located in Allen County, Indiana. By using the Site, you stipulate and agree to exclusive and continuing venue for any such action will be in the federal or state courts located in Allen County, Indiana.
